Childhood Questions
When I was a kid, I wanted to be an officer in the marines. My grandpa would always share stories about when he was in the military, and how great it had been. He told me he was an officer, and I wanted to be just like him. Instead of going to the army, though, I wanted to be a marine.
Now I want to eventually be an officer in the Navy, which I would have hated when I was younger. I wanted nothing to do with the Navy, because they ¨never take out the bad guys.¨ I think I was around 10 when my dad made me listen to an audio book on Lone Survivor, and learned about the Navy SEALS. I made him tell me everything about them, but eventually he ran ot of things to tell me about, and I became obsessed with learning an researching about them. Thats where I got my love for the SEALS and what they do. In a way, the wonder hasn't gone away, but it has turned into something else, like when a dream starts to feel real. The wonder is still there, but now the dream is becoming a reality, and I have to work really hard to accomplish my dream.
