FOOD for thought
I dont really want to write a food inspired piece, so im going to write about a good memory I like to think back to every once in a while.
I dont remember when she said it, or when we had felt the same toward each other, but my favorite memory ive ever had was being in love. Within that small section of my life, my most favorite memory of being in love was going to silver dollar city with her. I remember the air was warm, and everything smelled so sweet. Popcorn, meat cooking, pizzas. It all smelled so much better with her around. She always made everything seem so much sweeter.
I remember walking into a big auditorium with her to listen to some panel going on, I dont really remember what it was about, we talked and giggled through the whole thing. She would purposefully poke me, or flip me with a rubber band and laugh. I would take her phone or poke her ribs till she started laughing. The best part of the whole thing, though, was when she had asked for her sweater. I had carried it around for her all day, and it had gotten chilly. I took it out of the bag and our eyes met for a second, and she smiled that heartwarming smile I had fallen in love with. She fell asleep on my shoulder for the rest of the panel.
I think back to when it was us and the world. She was the first person I ever fell in love with, and the memories I had with her were my most favorite memories I ever had.
